FAQs:

• Anti-Fat Tax/Size Inclusivity: This code is intended  to help offset the extra cost of garment making often experienced by plus sized makers so I ask that you please only use it as intended. For orders of 6+ skeins of any color or base combination that will be used to make a garment you can use the code FERNFRIEND10 for 10% off of the yarn in your order. (Excludes: sock sets and mini sets) Thank you so much for being considerate and allowing me to keep this code around and improve upon it in the future! 

 

• I will NEVER use generative AI and I will never condone the sale or appearance of my products on AI shopping channels. Unfortunately, small business owners are being largely robbed of control of this and many are having their products, images, and descriptions scraped and made visible on other shopping platforms without their consent. I will always take every opt-out option available to me and my shop regarding AI. This website is my only sales platform and Instagram is my only social media platform. Please do not purchase any items that appear to be mine through other sales channels. If you encounter my products seemingly appearing online anywhere other than this website, please let me know immediately so I can pursue their removal. Thank you for your helping small businesses like mine stay vigilant and protect ourselves during this infuriating time.  

 

• Recommended care for hand dyed yarn: Gently hand wash in cool water with a wool-friendly detergent. Each skein of Painted Fern yarn is hand dyed and then carefully washed and rinsed. It is still possible for color bleeding to occasionally occur, especially with deeply saturated colors, though I do everything in my power to minimize those instances. Washing your dark, bright, or all around more saturated projects separately (especially for the first few washes) can be helpful for avoiding color transfer if bleeding occurs. Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, each skein will be somewhat different. If you would like to avoid possible striping or color pooling, alternating skeins as you work up your project might be helpful. Happy making!

 

• International Shipping: please note that packages shipping internationally may incur fees or duties upon arrival to the destination country that are to be paid by the customer. Thank you for your understanding! I hope to be able to resume shipping to the EU and a wider list of places in the future. If the checkout page says shipping is not available to your country/address, please reach out via the contact form to let me know, as I would love to make a shipping option available if at all possible.

• Allergy notice: while no pets are allowed in the areas where yarn is dyed and skeined, all Painted Fern Fiber Co. products are made in a cat and dog friendly home. 

 

• Wholesale: I am not currently accepting wholesale orders but please contact me if you are interested in carrying very limited batches of my yarn in your shop in the future.
